Blurb

It's been a few years since Matt diLorenzo gave his lover Vic Braunson a copy of The Kama Sutra for Gay Men, which doubled as a handy reference guide to the superpowers Vic got every time they made love. The book is well-worn and scribbled in, and the guys haven't seen it in years. But there's one position they never got around to really trying out ...

Vic tries not to bring a bad day at work home with him, but Matty can be persistent. Once he uncovers what's bothering Vic, Matt does his best to make his lover forget about everything but him.

But Vic is still moody the next morning, and when he returns to work, one thing after another gets him hot under the collar. His foul mood simmers all day.

Then he hits the gym after work, and his anger bursts into flames when someone makes the move on his guy. Will Matt be able to put out the fire before anyone gets hurt?

Excerpt

Vic led the way into their apartment, unhooking Sadie’s leash as Matt looked the door behind them. The dog ran to the kitchen, where she knew she would get a cup of kibble before bedtime. But before Vic could follow, Matt caught his arm and wheeled him around. Vic found himself pressed against his lover, their bodies a delicious crush that sent an electric shock of lust bolting through him. Matt eased his arms around Vic’s neck and Vic placed a hand on either side of him, leaning into him, pinning him to the door for another slow, simmering kiss.

::I’m sorry,:: Matt said without breaking away from Vic.

Following his lead, Vic responded telepathically. ::It’s fine. Sadie’s fine.::

Now Matt pulled back -- not much, there wasn’t room, but enough to signal to Vic that the kiss was over. He licked his lower lip, and Vic chased after his tongue with a quick little peck. But Matt rolled his lips back over his teeth, preventing another.

“I don’t mean just about that,” Matt sighed, his words mere breath between them. “I’m sorry you had such a rough day --”

“It’s over with,” Vic assured him, running his fingers through Matty’s thick mop of dark hair. Gently he caught hold of it and tugged playfully. When Matt leaned back, Vic kissed the underside of his chin. As Vic breathed in Matt’s scent, his dick twitched in the confines of his work pants.

Still, he felt Matt inside his head, poking here and there, trying to get Vic to open up. ::No secrets between us,:: he said. ::What happened?::

::It wasn’t any one thing,:: Vic admitted. ::Just had a bad day, that’s all. Can’t we just forget it?::

But Matt was adamant. ::Let me see.::

With a resigned sigh, Vic visualized spinning the wheel on the safe he sealed earlier. The moment the door swung wide, Matt stepped in and began rifling through Vic’s memories, stopping here or there to watch something play out. Vic felt like a voyeur, not really reliving the day or even looking back on it, but seeing it through Matty’s eyes. Even as his earlier anger grew from one scene to the next, he was removed from it now, no longer feeling it sharp and bright but instead viewing it with bemused detachment. Sleeping in late, the traffic, the change in his schedule -- ::Aww, poor baby,:: Matt cooed. ::Having to go to work in the morning like the rest of us.:: -- the people he’d had to deal with throughout the evening while driving his route.

Then Matt glanced at the last memory of Vic’s hectic workday and laughed out loud. His arms tightened around Vic’s neck and he leaned in to touch the tip of his nose to his lover’s. “You’re seriously the only person I’ve ever met who doesn’t like Kyle,” he teased.

Vic groused, “The only one willing to admit it.”

“What is it you have against him?” Matt wanted to know. “He isn’t all that bad.”

With a peeved look, Vic complained, “He called you his ex.”

“So he’s delusional,” Matty joked. “Doesn’t mean he isn’t fun.”

Vic countered, “He’s a pain in the ass.”

This earned him a quick kiss. “True,” Matt agreed. “And you don’t exactly have the patience of Job to put up with anybody but me.”

“Sometimes you try my patience, too.”

Matt laughed. “Like when?”

Vic didn’t answer. Instead he touched his forehead to Matt’s and stared into his lover’s deep green eyes. Every inch of his body hungered for this man in his arms. As he breathed out, he pushed the feeling from his consciousness into Matty’s, telling his lover without words exactly what he wanted. What he needed.

He felt Matt’s heartbeat flutter in anticipation, felt Matt’s knees go weak with desire. Matt crushed his mouth to Vic’s with a hunger of his own. He tugged at Vic’s workshirt, snapping off a button in his haste. ::God, yes.::

From somewhere behind Vic came a soft wuff. Sadie.

Vic pulled back slightly. “Someone’s hungry,” he murmured against Matt’s lips.

“Someone can wait,” Matt whispered back.

Book Blitz & Giveaway - J.M. Snyder - The Positions Of Love Collection

Length: 99,966 words.

Publisher: JMS Books

Blurb

When Matt diLorenzo gives his lover, Vic Braunson, a copy of the Kama Sutra for Gay Men as a Christmas gift, they find it doubles as a handy reference guide to Vic's super powers. All they have to do is test out the positions to see which one gives him what ability ...

Contains the stories:

The Positions of Love: When Vic’s boss asks him to play Santa at the company Christmas party, the enticement of more time off sweetens the deal. It might be a wonderful holiday season after all ... if he can only find the perfect present for his lover.

Two Pillars Position: Some mornings, Vic stops by the gym to bench-press a few thousand pounds, show off for his fellow bodybuilders, and spend some time with his lover before he has to start his day. A quickie in the pool showers seems like a good way to get the blood pumping ...

Clasping Position: Though Vic had difficulty finding a suitable gift for his lover for Christmas, Matt has the perfect evening planned for Valentine's. He's made reservations at an expensive steakhouse for the two of them, and hopes the intimate dinner is a prelude to a night of love. But things get a little frisky before they leave for the restaurant.

Hammock Position: Spring is in the air, and Matt convinces Vic to join him for a little rest and relaxation on the sunny banks of the James River. What's more enticing than sex on the rocks by the river's rapids?

Two Dogs Position: Doggy style brings out the animal in Vic, literally. He finds out the hard way, when Matt invites friends over for a party. Vic's heightened senses reel from the sights and sounds, and he locks himself away in the bathroom just to get his latest superpower under control. But what he hears in the apartment above puts the party on hold.

Cowboy Position: Matt diLorenzo has a secret fetish -- he loves to watch a man eat. When Vic finds out, he suggests they share a quiet, indoor picnic. Something sinfully sexy, for just the two of them. On the menu? Whipped cream, fresh strawberries, and chocolate syrup drizzled over Matt's bare skin for Vic to lick off.

Kneeling Butterfly Position: It's a rainy Saturday and Matt wants to spend it at the mall. And what Matt wants, he gets. There's only one little problem. He loves shopping; Vic does not. Still, the promise of sex in the dressing room sparks Vic's interest.

Pillar and the Ivy Position: One of Matt’s favorite sexual positions, but he doubts his ability to support Vic’s weight as they make love standing up. He’s not the one with super strength, after all. Vic thinks maybe they could pull it off ... in the gym’s swimming pool.

Tripod Position: It's Vic's birthday, and Matt wants to do something special. When he discovers his lover has a leather fetish and used to be into clubbing, Matt thinks it'd be fun to go out as a couple to celebrate his special night. But while Matt looks sexy in boyshorts, Vic isn't the only one watching.

Lotus Position: When Vic has a few days off from work, the two visit Wildwood, New Jersey, a tourist town Matt used to frequent as a child. Though Vic isn't keen on crowds and would prefer to spend his downtime at home, Matt entices him with the offer of sex on the beach ... and he doesn't mean the drink, either.

The Arc Position: It’s Halloween, and Roxie is having a party. Matt wants to dress as policemen but Vic’s latest power creates a costume all his own.

Sideways Position: For Thanksgiving, Matt takes Vic home to meet his parents. The diLorenzos aren’t quite sure what to make of their son’s lover. Matt’s Nonna tends to lapse into her native tongue without realizing it. Imagine everyone’s surprise when Vic answers her in flawless Italian.

Length: 50,000 words approx.

Publisher: JMS Books

Blurb

One morning before work, Alan Travers accidentally bumps into Detective Jim Garrison at a cafe where both men stop for coffee. The handsome younger man interests Alan, but he misses his chance to get to know the detective better and wonders if he'll get another.

With the help of his nephew Brooks, Alan concocts a plan to try and get Jim's attention "accidentally on purpose." It works, but as things heat up between them, Alan worries what Jim will think if he finds out their getting together was no accident.

Then Brooks goes missing, and Alan's going to have to come clean. But is he the only one not being truthful?

Excerpt

Standing on his porch is Detective Jim Garrison with the Richmond police. Dressed in a navy suit and tie, Garrison is a good decade younger than Alan and it shows. He’s sternly handsome, with a wide jaw and smooth, clean-shaven cheeks. His thin lips have a natural redness to them Alan wants to taste. He wears his thick brown hair short, combing the length on top to the left. He tilts his head that way, too, as if afraid to ruin the part. His dark bedroom eyes soften when he sees Alan.

In his gruff voice, Garrison says, “Mr. Travers, hello.”

“Detective.” Alan wonders if his own voice sounds as high out loud as it does in his head. Clearing his throat, he adds, “Nice to see you again.”

Understatement of the year.

“Well,” Garrison drawls, “you might change your mind when you find out the reason why I’m here.”

Alan presses his lips together to keep from grinning. “Oh no. Don’t tell me it’s Brooks again?”

“You are aware there’s a curfew for anyone under eighteen?”

Of course he does. Garrison knows he does. The detective has been here for the same reason before. More than once.

“I know, I do,” Alan says. “But I didn’t know he wasn’t here, honest. The last I heard from him, he turned in around nine. Long day, you know. He was out at the high school football game earlier. Here I thought he was upstairs sleeping this whole time.”

Garrison narrows his eyes, and for a moment, Alan wonders if the jig is up. Then the detective lets out a weary sigh. “Yeah, well, he wasn’t.”

“Where’s he now?” Alan leans closer, pretending to look out at Garrison’s unmarked car but really trying to catch a whiff of the detective’s cologne. Calvin Klein’s Eternity, if he isn’t mistaken. Light, sexy, and seductive. He’d love to wake up with that scent on his pillows.

Get a grip, man. He isn’t here to see you.

Well, that isn’t exactly true. He is here to see Alan, but only about Brooks being out after curfew, again. Even if he does smell damn delicious.

“In the car,” Garrison says. “Front seat, don’t worry. He isn’t under arrest.”

“Maybe he should be,” Alan mutters. This time he allows himself a quick smile to show he’s only kidding. Mostly. “Didn’t he want to get out?”

Garrison turns now, too. The driver’s side window is down, and through it Alan can almost see the long black sleeve of the hoodie Brooks likes to wear. A faint light flickers inside the vehicle; Brooks on his cell phone, texting someone or playing one of his games.

Alan leans out a little more, crossing his arms in front of his chest. The night’s chilly this late. Ducking down, he can see farther into the car, and for one brief instant, Brooks glances his way. Alan raises his voice so it carries easily across the yard. “Coming in sometime tonight then, son?”

Brooks’s dramatic sigh can be heard all the way to the porch. The phone’s light goes out; a moment later, the passenger side door opens and Brooks doesn’t step so much as fling himself out of the vehicle. Angrily the door slams shut behind him.

In a low voice only Garrison can hear, Alan murmurs, “Someone has an attitude.”

“It could be worse,” Garrison suggests.

Alan looks at the detective, who’s watching Brooks approach and can’t see the naked want Alan knows has to be written all over his face. God, this man. So close Alan could reach out and touch him, if he dared. Careful, mate, he warns himself. Don’t go scaring him away just because you’re too damn eager.
Fighting against everything in him that wants Jim Garrison, Alan tries to keep his voice steady as he asks, “How, exactly?”

Garrison shrugs, and in the gesture, Alan sees a friendliness that makes his heart sing. It’s almost familiar, as if they might be more to each other than what it looks like tonight. Garrison raises his voice a little, so Brooks can overhear. “He isn’t into drugs or alcohol or fighting. You should see some of the riff raff I have to deal with some nights.”

Brooks has closed the distance between the car and house, and now he stomps up the porch steps with exaggerated force. His pale skin stands out against his black hoodie and jeans; even his hair is black, so dark it looks almost blue under the porch light.

“He just likes to run off at all hours.” Alan reaches out and ruffles that thick, inky hair, getting in a good rub before Brooks ducks out of reach. “You’re lucky you aren’t old enough to spend the night in jail.”

Brooks glares at Alan from under his dark fringe. “If I were older, I wouldn’t be picked up for breaking curfew,” he mutters. “I don’t even know why it matters anyway. It’s Friday. I don’t have to get up early for school tomorrow.”

“Curfew’s the same every night,” Garrison says, “school or not. You know that by now. How many times have I picked you up after eleven?”

Brooks doesn’t answer, just shoves his hands in his pockets and scuffs his shoe as he frowns at the floor.

“Third time this month, innit?” Alan asks.

Brooks mumbles something under his breath.

“What’s that?” Leaning out the door, Alan cups a hand around his ear. “Speak up, son. I’m a little hard of hearing.”

Brooks glowers. “I said can I go in now? God.”

Alan can’t leave it alone. “Are you going to stay in there this time, then?”

With an aggravated sigh, Brooks pushes past Alan into the house. He storms upstairs, stomping with more force than before, if that’s possible.

Alan shares an amused smile with Garrison. “He’ll tear the house down if he isn’t careful. Thanks again for bringing him in.”

“No problem.”

Then, to Alan’s surprise, Garrison doesn’t make any move to leave.

Am I reading this right? Alan barely dares to hope.

Release Blitz, Excerpt & Giveaway - JM Snyder - Commanding Officer Thomas

Buy Links: Amazon US | Amazon UK | JMS Books

Length: 14,204 words

Publisher: JMS Books

Blurb

Lieutenant Lee Mallory spends his time off duty playing video games. There isn't much else to do while stationed on the USS Nova out in deep space.

Unfortunately, a run in with his commanding officer, Jonan Thomas, strips him -- and everyone else onboard -- of their gaming privileges.

Thomas has had it in for Lee from day one, when they got off on the wrong foot. Now, banned from using the game server in the rec room, Lee sneaks online in his quarters after hours, looking to play.

That's where he meets a fellow gamer onboard who's interested in a different kind of game. As much as Lee wants to hook up, though, he can't afford to get into any more trouble.

Can Lee take command -- in the game and in the bedroom -- without further aggravating his CO?

Excerpt

Lee kept an eye on her as she benched the weight, but most of his attention was diverted to the sexy guy now doing side planks. Lee toyed with the idea of approaching him, but how would that look? Hey, I saw you exercising. You’re kinda hot. Any way he played it out in his head, he knew it sounded like nothing more than a bad pickup line.

The guy jumped up from the plank and ran in place, feet a blur, knees pumping double time. Then he started doing lunges, alternating legs and turning a quarter turn with each set.

As he turned, Lee admired the way his little gym shorts pulled taut across his pert ass. When he added arm crunches to his routine, the muscles in his arms stood out, veins cabling in relief.

Lee watched, entranced. He liked this one -- so energetic. What would that energy be like in bed? His dick stirred at the sight of the guy’s buttocks flexing beneath the thin fabric. He imagined them both naked together, in his quarters, that round ass clenched tight and waiting beneath him. He could almost feel that pliant flesh in his hands as he massaged those ass cheeks, kneaded them, then pushed them together to ease his cock between them. He could almost see the dark tip of his dick peek out between the juicy twin mounds as he humped them once, twice, God. Just thinking about it made him hard.

Below him, Brenna made an exasperated sound. “Dude, you’re tenting. Chill.”

Lee shifted his legs to hide his budding erection. Budding? Hell, a few minutes more and he’d get off on his fantasy alone.

The barbell clanked back into the rack and Brenna sat up. Then she grabbed her towel off the bench and wiped the sweat off her face. With a sigh, she said, “Look, I know when I’m being ignored.”

“I’m not ignoring you!” Lee jiggled the barbell. “Come on, you need to get in your reps. I’m sorry --”

“It’s fine,” she assured him. “I’m done. Go talk to him already, will you?”

Sudden fear lurched in Lee’s chest. “What? I can’t. I don’t know him.”

“But you want to,” Brenna said. “So go over there and introduce yourself.”

“No!”

Across the gym, the guy they were discussing stopped exercising abruptly, as if he’d heard them. He raised his left leg, then reached back with his right hand to grab his foot and pull it back into a slow stretch. After a moment, he switched legs. Then he twisted at the waist, and he caught Lee staring.

Lee felt his face flush. God.

“He knows you now,” Brenna said. “Go on, man up.”

Before Lee could gather up his courage, the guy grabbed a nearby towel to wipe down and headed their way.

“Go on,” Brenna hissed.

The pressure was on. Lee’s palms grew slick, his cheeks burned. This was it, his moment, go for it. But what should he say? “Hey baby,” was a bit too blunt, but “Sup” sounded too informal. The guy was coming closer, he was almost close enough to speak to, damn.

Suddenly Lee’s mind locked up, and his mouth moved on its own. His tongue curved over his teeth, his bottom lip curled, and he let out a randy whistle.

The guy froze and stared at them. His eyes were dark -- blue? black? Lee wasn’t sure, but they flashed under heavy brows knit together in confusion or anger, one of the two. Not exactly the reaction Lee had hoped for.

“Was that directed at me?” the guy asked.

His voice was level, calm. Maybe Lee was misreading the situation. Still, just to be safe, he gave a one-shouldered shrug and made a noncommittal noise he hoped could be read as either yes or no, depending on how it was interpreted.

The guy looked unimpressed. “What’s your name, mister?”

Maybe he was interested, after all. Lee tamped down the flicker of hope in his chest. “Lee. Lee Mallory with the 58th. This is --”

“Lieutenant Mallory.”

The blasé way he drew out Lee’s name set off all kinds of warning bells. “How’d you know my rank?”

Rubbing the towel over his close-cropped hair, the guy sounded casually disinterested as he replied, “You’re right. We haven’t been formally introduced. But I’ve heard all about you, Lieutenant.”

Beside him, Brenna groaned. “Oh no.”

Lee still didn’t get it. “What do you mean?”

“He’s our new CO,” Brenna moaned.

Now he smiled, a cold, hard slash across his face. “It’s Thomas. And you’ll address me as Commander or sir, is that understood?”

“Sir! Yes, sir!” Lee snapped to attention, as if that might help dig him out of trouble.

It didn’t. “So I’ll ask you again,” Thomas drawled. “Was that whistle directed at me?”

Lee didn’t know how to answer, what to say. What could he say? “Um ...”
